Fuerzas Comando 2019, a special operations competition event, took place in Chile during June 17-27, 2019. Many nations from the western hemisphere sent their SOF teams to compete in the event. The competitors refined their tactical and technical skills during the competition. Fuerzas Comando 2019 also increased interoperability, cooperation, and trust with other SOF units.
Nineteen countries took part in Fuerzas Comando 2019. The annual, multinational competition is sponsored by the U.S. Southern Command. Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH) is the executing agency. The competition was hosted by Chile. The event has taken place yearly since 2004.
The ten day event consists of teams competing against each other in a number of events. These events include a physical fitness test, foot march, sniper competition, marksmanship, obstacle course, and water event.

This years winning team was from Colombia, the second place team was from Chile, and the third place team from Ecuador. The competition was won by Colombia in 2018 and by Honduras in 2017. Colombia has always had a strong showing in this SOF competition – taking top honors 10 times.

A senior leader seminar took place during the event. They gathered in Santiago, Chile from June 24-26 to discuss opportunities to strengthen partnerships and enhance regional security.
